Ageing lessens our energy needs but our food consumption stays the same, which results in an increase in body fat. It also boosts metabolism, as opposed to bingeing on one meal and starving yourself for the rest of the day.
- It is good to know that most people don’t skip breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day. It is important because it refuels the body wit energy burned while sleeping. Yes, your body burns energy during sleep. If you don’t replenish that energy by eating breakfast, it may lead to unhealthy snacking during the day.
- Eat healthy foods. Don’t skip lunch and dinner but try to eat as healthy as possible, in moderation. Avoid junk foods and go for more natural food and drinks like fruits and vegetables.
Having a healthy lifestyle isn’t complete without regular exercise. Eating healthy food is just half of the battle. Don’t forget to drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the exercise.
