Things To Look Forward To In 2010

The nineties flew by. It is hard to believe that we celebrated the end of the millennium ten years ago. If you are the type of person that likes to look ahead then you will want to know what is in store for you in 2010.

There are a number of major sporting events this year that will draw the world’s gaze. In June the soccer World Cup is to be held for the first time on the African continent. Usually drawing billions of viewers it will be an event that takes over the media for three weeks. The atmosphere in South Africa will be savored by sports fans the world over as it is a spectacle that should not be missed. Though the US does not have the fan base for soccer that the rest of the world does, you should watch it and see what the other part of the world sees in this great sporting event.

If you are interested in Athletics; the Commonwealth Games are going to be held in Delhi, India, during October and The Winter Olympics start in February. These chilly games will be based out of Vancouver, Canada, and feature competitors from a wide array of countries. Check out the bobsled team from Jamaica as well as competitors from some not so cold regions of the world. All of the Olympics are known for not only being competitive but inviting and embracing those around them.

If you love movies there are going to be some big releases coming up this year. Sequels are coming out for many Hollywood greats such as Iron Man 2, a new Shrek, and also modern versions of old classics such as Ridley Scott’s production of Robin Hood featuring Russell Crowe and the A Team with cameos from the original actors. The Oscars are always worth watching as well and have some very interesting match-ups and they are being held in March.

Let us all hope that 2010 is a more peaceful and prosperous year. There are signs that the worst of the economic problems are now behind us and we can all look forward to a more financially secure future.

There is no reason why 2010 will not be a great year for all of us.
