While being able to do what you love sounds nice, there are some people that just can’t make a living doing what they love to do. Those people have to decide to either find an alternative way to make a living or continue to starve out the meager living doing what they love. What many people end up with is a kind of hybrid situation as they make a living one way while doing what they love as a hobby or starting a business that utilizes their particular skill. What they find is they are just plain happier having a way to participate in an activity that they really enjoy. It helps their stress levels and makes them happier people, which is a great thing for everyone that has to be around them.
Of course for all of those that are fortunate enough to love investment banking and other professions that translate into high paying jobs, consider yourself lucky. You could have been born with the love of playing a kazoo and the last time I looked, no one is looking for a kazoo player.
